AIMS:

PREPARATION:
1.
Photocopy the
lyrics of the song.
PROCEDURE:
We will
propose a series of activities to be done in a class of Primary School. The
goal is to enhance English learning by working with a song and activities
related to it.
1º) Prediction
activities:
- We will make students listen to a piece of the song and we will ask them to explain what the song is about.
- Once they have given their opinion, we will tell students the title of the song and we will ask them to guess something more about the subject.

-We will show
our students an image like the one shown below and we will give them some words
to go on guessing the content of the song.

2º) Working
on vocabulary:
To work on
the song vocabulary, we will perform the following activities:
- First of all, we will ask students to work in groups. Then we will give them some cards with drawings related to actions that are included in the song. In addition, we will give them some cards with the mane of the drawings. They will have to find the relationship between action and drawing cards and put them together.
- We will play ‘Simone Says’. During this game, the teacher will give instructions and students will have to follow them as soon as possible. For example: look up, move your toes, count to five, touch your nose, clap your hands, raise your hand…
3º) Listening
activities:
- First, we will let students listen to the song once.
- We will let students listen to the song once more. We will organize small groups and then we will assign each group one of the actions that appear in the song. When the action comes out in the song, the group in charge of that action will have to do it.
- Finally, we will give them some cards with the name of the actions that are in the song and when that action is sung they will have to show the correct card.
While
listening to activities:
Students will listen to the song
once. They will have to fill in the gaps while they are listening to the song a
second time. Then, the teacher will display the song once more to make sure
that they have understood it.
